Ghouls, gals, and spooky pals to Monstration Club!

Hi I'm Emma! While other kids were watching Christmas Vacation, my mom was introducing me to high cinema, like The Fly and Aliens. As a kid, I loved reading and quickly gravitated to anything with magic and witches.

What started with Harry Potter (Ravenclaw Forever) led me to the land of haunted puppets (How to Sell a Haunted House - Grady Hendrix), deadly resurrections (Pet Sematary - Stephen King), and assassin clones (Mr. Murder - Dean Koontz). Reading has taken me out of my hum drum life and transported me into a world of magic and mystery. Now, I'm working on my first novel where I get to create a magical, and harrowing, world of my own.

Let's get spooky ya'll!

Hey, I’m Jenn. I started watching horroresque films like Alien and Jurassic Park young (very young. probably too young)... Also, thinking about it now, Magic in the Mirror. The “children’s” movie about the ducks who boil people into a tea. Do we count that as horror? Probably.

As I grew older a love for the surreal pivoted a little, and now, I gravitate more towards fantasy (particularly of the darker variety) and science fiction. A few series that I’ve read recently and loved include: The Expanse (Corey), Mistborn (Sanderson), Throne of Glass (Maas) and The Poppy Wars Trilogy (Kuang). I’ll give anything about dragons or fairies a go and I’ll probably like it. I’m forever a Hufflepuff and I love all things Star Wars, Studio Ghibli and the Legend of Zelda. Let's make spooky cute :)
